Tsinghua High School won excellent results in the track and field trials of the 18th World Middle School Games and the 2019 National Middle School Track and Field Championships

From July 23 to 28, the track and field trials of the 18th World Middle School Games and the 2019 National Middle School Track and Field Championships were held in Xindu No. 1 Middle School, Chengdu, Sichuan Province。Tsinghua High School sent a total of 26 athletes to participate in the competition, won 7 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze good results。The competition was led by Fang Yan, Executive Vice president of the Track and Field branch of China Middle School Sports Association and Party secretary of the High school affiliated to Tsinghua University, and Luo Jian, secretary-general of the Track and Field branch of China Middle School Sports Association and director of the Ma John Class of Tsinghua High School。

The competition was divided into two groups: junior middle school group and senior middle school group. A total of 253 middle schools from across the country participated in the competition。In this competition, the junior Middle School group of Tsinghua Affiliated High School won the first place in the team total score, and the senior middle School group won the fifth place in the team total score。Among them, the junior Middle School girls' team of Tsinghua Affiliated High School won the championship with 109 points;The high school boys' team won the second place in the high school boys' team with 39 points。

In this competition, the athletes all obtained excellent results. The top three students in the senior group of individual events are: Li Xinhui of Class 1701 won the champion of women's shot put, Xing Jialiang won the champion of men's shot put and the runner-up of men's discus throw, and Chen Yan of Class 1801 won the third place of women's shot put。

The junior group also gained a lot in individual events: Pan Xuanyu of Class 1704 won the women's 100 meters champion，Lee Huixian won the women's 200 meters and the third place in the 100 meters，In the early 1606 class Jiang still won the women's 400 meters champion，In the early 1603 class, Sun Chang won the champion of women's quadruathlon，Sun Shengnan of Class 1706 won the second place of women's shot put and discus，Sun Longkang won the silver medal in men's shot put，The 4* 100m relay team composed of Pan Xuanyu, Li Huixian, Jiang Still and Lu Ruitong finished with 47 points.96 scores broke the conference record to win the championship, composed of Li Huixian, Jiang Still, Lu Ruitong, Cui Yifan 4*400 meters relay team 3:57.The score of 40 broke the conference record and won the second place。

Among them, Pan Xuanyu broke the original record of 12.45 seconds in the women's 100 meters, Li Huixian and Jiang Yiran broke the original record of 25.81 seconds in the women's 200 meters, and Sun Chang broke the original record of 2,361 points in the women's quadruathlon。

In order to prepare for the competition, with the strong support of the school leaders of Tsinghua High School, the coaches actively cooperated, and finally determined the 26 participants in the track and field team after strict selection。

Before the competition, Secretary Fang Yan went to Xendu No. 1 Middle School to visit the teachers and students of Tsinghua Affiliated High School who came to participate in the competition, stressing that the spirit of "Ma class" should be adhered to to the end, hoping that the students would show the spirit of Tsinghua Affiliated High School students in the competition, make every effort to fight to the end, and put forward requirements for the safety management and diet of the athletes。

In this competition, Tsinghua Affiliated High School, as the chairman of the Track and Field Branch of the Chinese Middle School Sports Association, participated in the whole process of the competition, including the approval and confirmation of the host unit, the issuance of the participation regulations, the recycling of registration information, the organization of the referee's work, the arrangement of the order book and other related events。Secretary Fang Yan and Teacher Luo Jian organized the teachers in the Ma Class office to divide their work scientifically and completed the registration of more than 2,000 athletes within 2 days。From information confirmation to qualification verification, material acceptance, student status confirmation, and the production of competition documents, the Ma class teachers are conscientious and meticulous。In the end, the High School attached to Tsinghua University was praised by the participating units for its practical and careful working attitude。

The track and field trials of the 18th World Middle School Students' Games and the 2019 National Middle School Students' Track and Field Championships are based on the competition plan of the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education，It was sponsored by China Middle School Students' Sports Association, and hosted by Xindu District People's Government of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and Track and Field Branch of China Middle School Students' Sports Association，The highest level of national middle school students' track and field events co-organized by Sichuan Provincial Education Department, Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, Sichuan Provincial Athletics Association, Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau, Chengdu Municipal Sports Bureau and other units。More than 3,000 teachers and students participated in the competition。
